About Girls Who Code Arlington
About the Club
GWC (Girls Who Code) Arlington is a branch of the GWC organisation founded by Reshma Soujani. GWC is a network of organized clubs in towns and cities across the US. The club is for girls only, but is very open. It helps girls learn to code, and the goal of the club is to use that knowledge to create a website or app with coded projects designed to help the community: for example, a website that helps people volunteer at a local soup kitchen. The informational meeting was on September 28. The club lasts from the 19th of November to June 14, and meets every Wednesday in the community room at the Robbins Library. It is free, and the three volunteers offer their time up to help the girls in the club learn to code, so that they can have fun doing what they love with other girls, and maybe get a better job someday from their training.
