Today is extra fun, but also a little bittersweet. Aimee, the teen librarian here and also the librarian in charge of organizing our club, will be leaving soon! Her last day is Friday, and she'll be having a party then, but today we had our own private Girls Who Code goodbye. We had food and drinks, and Aimee received a giant card signed with special messages from everyone!
Even though we're sad that she's leaving, we're also happy for her. She has accepted a post for a teen librarian nearer to where she lives, so her commute will be easier. We'll miss her a lot! Congratulations, Aimee!

Again, there is nothing particularly exciting to name today's post. One of our helpers is absent again today. One member is using JavaScript to build a website!Today is our third post! For lack of a better name, we've labeled it Post Three.
Today two of our volunteers have new haircuts, while the third is absent. We also have a visitor, a coder and the parent of one of our coders, here to check out the club. He is a math teacher and coder named Nathan Carter! Work is going well, and the recent snow has made everyone cheerful. Today we are all continuing on our projects from last week. Our missing volunteer is back, and it's Women's Day! Girls Who Code Arlington is celebrating by awarding one of our members with a bag of goldfish since she worked on her project over the break. Spirits are high, and our creativity is running that way too!
On a random note, the weather today is lovely. |
